GM sale – why it is not a whise decision to sell opel and hummer
the companies are supposed to be sold to magna sberbank and a chinese company.
what have these three companies in common. one is based in canada one in russia the third in china. all three countries are known as not being loyal to intellectual property rights. all three countries are well known as countries where intellectual property rights are violated in a large scale in case of china even made a state policy .
china is well known for hacking into corporate america´s computers even to government computers to steal information and intelligence.
magna and sberbank already announced they want to use opel technology to be used in other fields and brands then opel. both talk openly about technology transfer and make clear that this is their intention to buy opel.
hummer also contains very advanced technology the chinese not able to produce and create for a long time. again technology transfer seems to be the major intention to buy the company.
american production costs are much higher then the other countries. health care retirement insurance payments environmental care and similar costs apart from the high wages makes american products more expensive then the competition.
at present america tries to keep the value of the dollar down to make american products competitive. but this policy also keeps the buying power of american companies down their ability to act on international markets are going to be weakend.
americas only strength lies in the technology. the advanced american know how, american technology is the only point where america can compete and that is sold out. sold out to countries like canada china and russia who openly say that they target technology. america is giving away the only thing they can compete with these days.
the white house thinks they are doing something great by forcing gm to sell off opel and hummer. but there is no doubt now that acutally that will be the end of the competitive american market.
and the past show a country in the size of america can not be a second swiss only producing money and fonds. a 300 plus million country needs a solid manufacturing industry to keep running.
