macedonian afghanistan

These days when we see events in the tv we are very fast to judge these events by our current standards and our current way of life. However we lack a certain judgement over the issue which will say that our ancestory behaved in the same or similar way and what we are judging right now is our present with our past.

I came to that thought when I was watching the demolition of the budha statues by the taliban in afghanistan. If I would be a modern man will say a man with a certain lack of education regarding historical events I would judge the event in the same manner like this journalist did and most people of the time did as well. However as a man with a certain education in historie and I am not talking about a college education in historie I mean as someone who spends a lot of his free time for research regarding historical events I came to a different conclusion as many of my contempory friends.

First of all where many people saw some radical moslems destroying some budha statues and budhistic teaching is the fastest growing religion in the western world I could not help me to see something else something additional which was very often overseen in these types of conflicts.

My classical historical education told me when I watched the images of the afghan conflict that most of the afghan people do not looke alike. Some people even have blonde hairs which would be seen as something very strange when you consider that all surrounding societies have dark skin and black hairs. And the very first thing that comes into someones mind is where does this blonde people come from. And my classical education told me first that alexander the great created established some polis some outpost here which was very common these days. And the literatur told me further that many of his former soldiers took local woman as their wifes. So our first conclusion would be that many of these asian people who are destroying budhist statues are of greek heritage with a moslem religion and a afghan or better local tribal identity. Many of their ancestors came from macedonia. And when we go further we can say that they are also cultural in many ways macedonian and greek. When we seek deeply we will find the connection between these two societies. So we have a greek macedonian local tribal society which lies between a persian a sineon and a indian culture, which was once overrun by moslem invaders who gave them by force their religion some hundred years ago.

When we consider the thought that the afghanian people never accept a foreign invading force and never accept a stranger culture and society, which would say that afghani people are seen as xenophobic, than a simple look at history will refuse that theory by some simple facts. Afghanistan accepted after a defeat the macedonian presence and further they accepted them as husbands and son in law and brother in law. That makes at least once in their history the afghanie people accepted a foreign invader after a military defeat and accepted their culture and religion and accepted to melt with the foreign invaders. That throws away the theory of the modern theory we hear aldays in the news. Next in history monks of china and india started to spread into the area with their new religion in their baggage and managed to establish a society which is based on their teaching. The statues that were destroyed by the taliban are created at that age. By macedonian local tribal ancestorial people with a greek heritage who took over budhist teaching a new society was established. When islamic invaders arabs came they managed to destroy local political constructs and by time even managed to give their religion to that region. And we see even one more time the afghani people accepted foreign people foreign invaders and foreign political structures and foreign religions.

When we look today at the events in afghanistan and pakistan we should look at other reasons to explain the xenophobic attitute of these movements. It is too easy to say they never accepted foreign invaders and foreign cultures since we could show in our brief review that they did that. And we went further and said their whole culture is based on acception foreign invaders and foreign cultures and in the case of macedonian soldiers even their constant presence and marriage. We could present that everything that they say are their culture and values they protecting against foreign american and european invaders or other language is the culture of foreign invaders who wanted to bring their valuesystem and their political organisation and their exploitation of their human and natural resources.

And before you can say that these things only can happen in asia would be too easy to explain the world. One simple sample and I am sure there are more than that one sample will show you that these things also happened in europe years ago. 1789 commonly known as the french revolution inspired by the american revolution was in fact the reestablishing of the roman res publica. The rule of the public. The gallian people who once faught against an invader the roman army to protect themselves from getting exploited in 1789 recreated the roman state model in all its aspects agains the roman catholic church a very roman institution (in its foundations created by octavian – augustus to unite the empire through religion and due to its nature very strict and rigid). Celtic gallians (de bello gallico) fight a roman institution (the catholic church) by creating or better reestablishing another old roman institution (the res publica) and selling it to themselves and the whole world as a french gallian work of art and spirit of freedom. Even further in events like the bartholomäus night where thousands of protestants where killed they protected the roman religion against a new protestant movement. And as we know protestant religion is a phenomenon in all celtic regions which where once not ruled by the roman empire. All area settled withing the limes remain catholic till today. Protect the culture and religion of the invaders against every foreign as their own like the taliban.

And as always I hope this brief review helps to destroy what uneducated journalists created in our mind through their daily broadcasting regarding current events.
